Thanks for scrolling all the way down. Here are a few bonus candids of moi:
I organized a leadership conference chaired by the late Peter Drucker, which required him to travel from LA to San Francisco. Sorting through my papers not long ago, I found a peevish note from him because he had to change the flight ("I told you to wait to book the ticket") along with his original United Airlines First Class ticket, which I never turned in for credit. (Sorry, former employer.) At the conference when asked about the biggest issue facing business, ever the contrarian, Drucker replied, "the birth rate."
With my client and dear friend Tara Parker-Pope. Okay we're not good at selfies but this photo captured a fun evening at Radio City Music Hall. In addition to seeing David Sedaris that night, the two of us over the years have geeked out at events with Stephen King, Tara Westover, JK Rowling, John Irving and Robert Caro. In a perfect world, authors would receive the same treatment as rock stars.
Editor, agent and author meet up for coffee...I love that this photo captures something that happens everyday in publishing but also more. Yes, the industry is overwhelmingly white but it's changing.
Agent Regina Books and I co-chaired AALA Day at the US Book Show, which brought together agents, editors and other industry professionals.
